‘The Stockings Were Hung…’ A Christmas Stocking Swap!

One of my absolute favorite things about Christmas is going through my Christmas stocking! Whether you start going through it Christmas Eve or tear into it first thing Christmas morning, if you love the tradition of the Christmas stocking this swap is for you.

This is my first time hosting so I thank you for your patience if I make any missteps along the way.

Many thanks to all the very creative and clever people who have hosted similar swaps before; this is such a fun idea the more the better in my opinion.

For this swap you will have one partner to whom you will send one Christmas stocking.

You will either make one from scratch or buy one to decorate or even just buy a super nice one if you’re not into vamping or revamping things. It would be nice to customize the stocking to your partners profile, perhaps put her/his name on it?

Next you will need things to fill the stocking!

You will find a minimum of five (more if you like) presents to delight your partner when they open their Christmas stocking. Make sure you check your partners profile to get some ideas from either their wish lists or what kind of themes and likes and dislikes they have. Some of the presents can be handmade if that’s what you really love and/or what your partner is in to. Remember to wrap the presents so they get the pleasure of opening them!

Next add some Christmas treats, candies, cookies or the like. Perhaps a charming ornament or decoration for the tree? A Mix CD of your favorite holiday songs would be really nice, or a copy of your favorite holiday music CD. Maybe some of your favorite holiday recipes on some nice recipe cards. Fill your stocking to the brim with fun, wonderful and inspiring items. Any further suggestions, please feel free to post them in the comments section!

Finally send a card (once again, either handmade or store bought) sending your partner your holiday greetings and of course letting them know who you are so they can give you your well deserved rating (remember to put the swap name in there too)!

Remember to send something you yourself would love to receive, this should be a swap where we all experience the joy of overachievement!

The price point should be $15 to $20 Because it would be so awful to not have a stocking to open for Christmas the rules are a bit firm.

You must have completed at least ten(10) real mail swaps to join (and have been rated for them).

Have a 4.8 minimum rating and no no sends in the last six(6) months.

You must have signed in to swap-bot at least 3(three) days before the last day to sign up. (November 7th)

This swap will be USA/CANADA only due to shipping costs.

I’ll be going through and checking everyone’s profile before assigning partners to make sure we all fit the swap criteria.

This swap really can’t be angeled as part of the point is to open your stocking on Christmas so please do not join if you do not absolutely plan to send!
