Flat-Rate Box Emergency Kit - US only

I need to get a more comprehensive emergency kit going so I though this might help me get started and maybe some others would like to do the same.

Here's the swap. Stuff a SMALL flat-rate box with items that would go in an emergency/survival/disaster kit plus a survival tip and a note.

Here are some suggestions but feel free to expand, and please respect profile preferences:

1) non-perishable, ready-to-eat food - protein bars, jerky, packaged nuts

2) survival gear - emergency blanket or poncho, small flashlight (can not mail batteries), duct tape, dust mask, whistle, water purifying tablets

3) morale boosters - a deck of cards or some dice, notebook and pen, a small book - jokes, poetry, inspiration

4) other - basic first aid, map of the person's area, chapstick (check profile), key ring for extra set of house/car keys, sewing kit, sample-size hygiene items (shampoo, soap - check profile)

Please keep an eye out for mailability and either research or check with your post office before mailing. For instance, you can't mail lithium batteries and matches and lighters are a pain to mail:

Also, please don't send medicine and other items that are very personal for preference.

I can't angel this so there is a minimum rating of 4.98 with no recent 1s or 3s. Plus you must have a complete profile. Also, newbies will be evaluated individually based on number of completed swaps, ratings and comments, profile, etc.
