Number of people in swap:5
Location:International
Type:Type 2: Flat mail
Last day to signup/drop:April 9, 2016
Date items must be sent by:April 25, 2016
Number of swap partners:1
Description:
  1. Send at least 5 samples of any cosmetic, make-up or skin/hair/body care item: body milk, shampoo, perfume, face or hand cream, BB/foundation-cream, eye-shadows, shower gel, etc. Please, send something interesting, not Elseve, Nivea, Timotei, Dove and such. You can get them in grocery stores or pharmacies in a bulk and for free. They are not interesting at all.

  2. Write a small note listing top 5 of your favorite cosmetics products and explanation why do you like them. You can write on the piece of plain (or nice) paper or use a notecard. No requirements about design and size of the note.

  3. Send them together. In most cases variety of 5 samples + note still fit into 20g envelope.

You can check profile for preferences (color, ability to use make-up) but it's still sender's choice swap. If you tend to have allergies, it might be not the best swap for you to join. So just to be safe: if you don't use make-up, you still HAVE TO rate 5 for make-up samples. ALTHOUGH it's possible that you partner will accept you request to not send this type of samples.

No complete newbies, and please, no unexplained 1's or 3's. I will read all profiles very thoughtfully to prevent any flaking. As a swap host I have right to ban anyone from the swap. I reserve the right to investigate information about swap participants in case of doubt.

I will angel if needed, just keep me informed.

I would like to do this, as I get Allure beauty box, and I don't like everything I receive in it all the time, BUT-shipping International is not an option, is there a USA only?

daarhon 03/28/2016 #

@deboraht I was thinking about Allure-box format for next time but it definitely cannot be USA-only as I'm from Europe. This swap is affordable for USA members as it's a flat samples swap and it's still 1 oz envelope.

Where do you even get samples from? I never see them in drugstores or beauty supply stores.

@ContraryHousewife , some people might get them from subscription boxes (such as Allure beauty box, mentioned above). I was briefly into subscription boxes a few years ago, and a lot of them included samples (in at least one of them, the subscriber could "choose" their samples, but most of the time they were random). I'm not sure where else someone might find samples; like you, I never see them in stores!

ordering from sephora also gets your samples :) I ordered a bunch of Korean beauty products awhile ago from roseroseshop and got a TON of free samples with my order too.

@ContraryHousewife Girls listed many ways but also another one is just to ask for samples in beauty store or brand corner. Not in a way "just give me free samples" but in a way " I would like to try your products before buying". Usually consultants don't mind :)
