Description:

This swap is for one single letter, sent to one partner, by the deadline, weight not to exceed 1 ounce.

No extras. No stickers. No glitter. No ribbons. Heck, if you use self-mailing stationary, you won't even have an envelope! Nothing more than a single, amazing letter.

What? Did I say amazing? Yes, amazing. Write a letter that you're really proud of, something where you really try to knock the socks off your recipient. Yeah, you're writing to a stranger, so if it makes it easier to write, write the letter as if to your best friend, your confessor, the moon, whatever.

I won't tell anyone how to rate for hearts, but after you read the letter and are considering how to rate your sender, ask yourself one core question: Were you blown away?

Swappers must have ratings of 4 or above and no no-sends in the last 6 months. New swappers welcome. International welcome.

So theroretically if it wasn't too heavy you could start with a big sheet of paper and fold it down to the size of an envelope and send the letter as the envelope - does that make sense??? (I'd be kinda reluctant to as it might get smooched in the mail from the UK to the States but I guess it's worth a try. (I could also photocopy the letter and then send the photocopies or a remake if there is a problem)

Yes, you could do that-- I think it would be neat! Try to make it clear on the outside where to cut/open the envelope/letter, so your partner doesn't accidentally tear through your letter, though. :)

A self-mailer is a piece of stationery that's been designed to fold over itself (in 3rd or in half, depending on the stationery), seal, and you write the address and put the stamp on the outside to mail it. When it arrives, it feels like an empty envelope (I had one partner think it was empty when she first opened mine!)

What a great idea for a swap, it's a real challenge! Now what to write... wanders off muttering to herself
