TCH ~ Bible Baffle ~ Sermon on the Mount

This is the first of a new monthly series called "Bible Baffle." In this series, we will be taking a look into passages both familiar and sometimes unfamiliar. I will provide a few questions for you to ponder on the passage and you will also share your own insights on the passage.

Let me elaborate and clarify. You will have one partner and one passage of Scripture. Use my questions as a starting point and write a short note to your partner to share your insights and convictions on the passage.

This month's passage is Matthew 5:1-12 known as the The Sermon on the Mount.
Jumping Off Questions:
1. Which pair of descriptions in verses 3-10 stands out to you most? What is that stands out about that pair?
2. Verse 12 tells us to rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted for Christ. Have you ever faced persecution for your faith? How so?
3. Which "blessed" in verses 3-10 do you identify with the most? the least?
4. Any other thoughts or insights on the passage you want to share?
