AMOPW: Nod to the Elders

The Shepherd's Crown, Terry Pratchett's final novel, speaks about transitions, the passing of responsibility on from elder to younger leaders and caregivers.

As in so many of his books, there is a nod to history, to previous inhabitants of the world and their knowledge and power, and a nod to the elders, to their ability to change and grow, to continue to be relevant in the "modern age."

I thought that it would be a fun January challenge to give a nod to the elders -- honor the power and potential of the older ones in our lives. This could be your personal potential, if you feel that this applies to you, or it could be the power and potential of those you know or have read about. Fictional and nonfictional, animal and human, it all applies.

The goal of this swap will be to channel inspiration from those with a past to share with the future. What is actually sent will be up to the swapper -- a story, a piece of art, a craft learned through the years or with the help of another, carefully chosen images to illustrate a point ... the door is open.
