Description: | |
Have you made a dishcloth out of crochet thread? If so, then you know how wonderful the drape is, how well they absorb, and how durable as well. If not, then you should try! There are many crochet patterns out there for dishcloths made of thread. I don't knit, so I don't know if there are knit patterns. Knitters, you are welcome to join if you can knit a thread dishcloth. I, for one, would be thrilled to see one. So here's the official swap description: You will crochet (or knit)for your partner 1 dishcloth from #10 100% cotton thread (such as Aunt Lydia's). Be careful: There's Bernat Handicrafter thread out there that is NOT cotton!! Cloths should be at least 6" square (a little smaller than the usual swap requirement because thread work is a little fiddlier and I find it works up more slowly), Send your partner a quick note letting her know what you think of working with the thread to make cloths. Are you convinced of its functional superiority, or will you stick with worsted-weight? Enjoy! (PS: I know the sign-up and send-by dates are far in the future, but this is sender's choice as far as color and pattern, so you can get it done whenever and send as soon as partners are assigned. Or if you're like me, you'll need those last couple of weeks in April to make it AFTER Passover starts!) (Photo credits: I don't know, I just googled...) |
