Description:

Traditional 9-Patch blocks are versatile--you can make Disappearing 9-Patch out of them, and the combinations of colors and orientation and positions of the squares make interesting patterns in the overall quilts.

We'll make 12 1/2" blocks and send two to two partners (the 2X2 part of the swap) in their preferred colors-- post your preferences in the comments -- making them by arranging the colors in opposite patterns in each of the two--so 4 light, 5 dark in one, and 4 dark and 5 light in the other. See the swap pic above for example.

Since this is a group swap, I don't expect flakers. This is a good block for newbies, but you must have a well-filled out profile to join.

Tutorial on "The Quilter's Cache" just reverse the colors required in the pattern.

Summary: We will each send our 2 partners two 12 1/2" 9-Patch blocks in reverse color patterns made with their posted color preferences--two colors in printed fabrics, no solids. You can say something like Blue and white with Red, or Brown/yellow with dark green--something like that, and the single color fabrics can have small other colors in the pattern.

The swap is international, because if you press your blocks folded neatly, they can both fit in a letter envelope for minimal postage cost.

Any questions, please PM me.

You'll likely see this same swap in another group and a single partner, USA only version in the General Swaps, I just want to get it moving so I can have enough blocks to finally make a quilt I've been accumulating blocks for all year! I'll likely continue with a BOM after this one, in other patterns.

I'm looking for yellow, orange and pink blocks =)

My bad! I forgot to put my colors--is anyone surprised it's Black Red and White? :) Iff you feel like a change, you could do Royal/Cobalt blue and white.

I think we are all channeling each other... I've been making solid white and blue blocks like twobluecrows and yellow, pink and orange ones like Elanah! I'm going to be pretty happy with any of those. If those don't float your boat, solid white and any color would be fine.

thanks, Leslie

I prefer dark and bright -- no pastels or very light colors
