I love this one!! A prayer flag is a colorful rectangular cloth, often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. They are used to bless the surrounding countryside and for other purposes. Prayer flags are believed to have originated with Bon, which predated Buddhism in Tibet. Prayer Flags are inscribed with auspicious symbols, invocations, prayers, and mantras. Tibetan Buddhists for centuries have planted these flags outside their homes and places of spiritual practice for the wind to carry the beneficent vibrations across the countryside. Prayer flags are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the flag planter and those in the vicinity. Dharma prints bear traditional Buddhist symbols, protectors and enlightened beings. As the Buddhist spiritual approach is non-theistic, the elements of Tantric iconography do not stand for external beings, but represent aspects of enlightened mind i.e. compassion, perfect action, fearlessness, etc. Displayed with respect, Dharma prints impart a feeling of harmony and bring to mind the precious teachings. Lets make our own Prayer flag, there is a lot of information on the internet about it. In Pinterest there a many images. Be creative! And please make a nice one. Materials: Fabric, ribbons, buttons, felt, yarm ect. Sizes; about 15 or 20 by 10 or 15 cm should be rectangular. You can make one for Hope, strength, compassion, life, love, ect ect. I will check all profiles and angel if needed. I will make this one with plenty time for making. Have fun |
