A Tribute to Amelia Bedelia

I recently read this article. I had almost forgotten about silly, literal-minded Amelia Bedelia, cutting the dates out of a calender to make a date cake and spreading dust all over the furniture because she was told to dust! For this open swap, you will create one item depicting something Amelia got very wrong because she took the words too literally.

Maybe you'd like to make a miniature "sponge cake" out of kitchen sponges, draw a pretty picture of curtains since Amelia was told to "draw the drapes," or maybe you want to design a bottle of Official Amelia Bedelia Dusting Powder. The choices are endless! You can use an Amelia mishap from the books or make up your own.

Whatever you decide to make, please put time and effort into it, and make something you would love to receive. Be sure to include a little note explaining which figure of speech Amelia took way too seriously (if it's not obvious).
