Description: | |
The burial traditions of ancient Egypt just capture the imagination ... Osiris and Set, Isis and Horus ... darkness and light in balance, ensuring that the annual flooding and growth cycle continue. The challenge: If this is your first round, you will create a card with a mummy on the inside and a sarcophagus on the outside. Materials are sender's choice -- whatever you enjoy creating with -- no special embalming equipment required! Next, (or if this is not your first round then start here), put the sarcophacard in an envelope that has a large sarcophagus on it (again, how you create the sarcophagus is up to you -- it can be glued on, and the address written over it, drawn around the address, etc.) On the back of the envelope, the sender will write the current round that the ENVELOPE is in (some will be Round 2, some will be in Round 1, depending on whether you received an envelope in the last round), and the Round 1 sender's swap name and address (unless this is the envelope's first round, it is the same one already on the back). Mail the sarcophelope to one partner. The receiving partner will rate the sender on the outside envelope, and keep the sarcophelope in a secure location, undisturbed, until the next Round (Round 3). When we've decided that there have been enough rounds of Sarcophasilliness or Sarcophaseriousness, then we can decide to open them or keep them undisturbed forever :) Let me know what questions or clarifications that I need to make -- the idea is that there will be several layers of sarcophagus envelopes, and one card with a sarcophagus on the outside and a mummy on the inside. It is really more about the fun of the project than about being the most amazing mail artist in the world :) I angel all my swaps, and check profiles before assigning partners; let me know if a concern comes up. Feel free to write in hieroglyphics or PM me :) |
