Description:

A little on the late side this month, but I will be hosting this series of swaps page-by-page as long as people are interested. The intent is to fill a US standard three ring binder so the dimensions are important. International queens are welcome to join, however they will have to find the right size paper until I can come up with a better solution, I'm very sorry.

For this swap you will create one art journal page which is 8.5"x11" (216mm x 279mm - A4 pages are not the same) for one partner.

EDITED TO ADD: You may use A4 paper and cut about 17.8mm off the top of their pages and be close enough to meet requirements. This will make the page about 2mm too short in the width, but I that is not as big of an issue as the A4 pages being too tall to fit in USA standard binders. I hope this will encourage more people to join from countries which have leaders who are smart enough to use the metric system. I sure wish the US would hop on board!!

Art Journal Page Requirements

February's Theme: Fake It Til You Make It

You know the old saying right?

  • The front of the art journal page must be done according to this month's theme, which is open to interpretation by the artist. You can add writing or a short journal entry but the main focus should be the artwork you created.

  • The back of the art journal page must be lightly decorated to coordinate with the front. It does not have to be elaborate, just a little something so that it's not blank. It also must include the swap name and your username.

  • The overall dimension of the page must not exceed 8.5"x11".

  • With the page in the portrait orientation (shorter side on bottom) leave at least a one inch border which is free from hard embellishments, staples, fasteners, or anything which will prevent your partner from being able to punch holes or bind the pages together as they wish. The one inch border can be decorated.

  • Feel free to experiment with different techniques. This swap is open to art journal beginners but I expect that you will put your best effort in and make something you would love to receive. There is a lot of space on one of these pages so don't just slap some stickers or a few cutouts to a background, add a border, and call it 'art'. Spend some quality time on your page to coordinate with the month's theme.

Please let me know if there are any questions. If there is interest in doing a size that is standard in other countries please let me know so we can find a host from around there.

I will angel provided you have rated your partner a 1.
