I got lots of extra fabrics laying around and I have enjoyed all the fabrics swaps I have joined earlier. I really miss it!! I thought I would run a new one! – so this is what I have in mind:

  1. You will send a “scrap-bag whit approximately 1,5 yard of fabric, (please only sizes that can be useful for crafting) preferably wool or cotton.

  2. You will send one scrap bag to 2 partners.

  3. This is an international swap – so be prepared to send out of your country.

  4. Have fun – make a “scrapping-bag you would like to received.

If you have bad rating – don’t sign up!! I don’t want anyone to be disappointed.

This sounds like fun but i have a question first.Do we send one fabric or can we send say fat quartrers?

lindahog 12/19/2006 #

Hi funkychickenoriginals! You can send what you like – 1,5 yard in one cut or in smaller cuts – ex fat quarters. As long as total it is 1.5 yards you can do as you like !! linda

I would like to sign up. The last two fabric swaps I was in I never got any fabric. As a typical quilter, this is not a huge problem since I do not NEED any more fabric but it would have been nice. If you draw my name, and you want to send me something nice, I like beiges, pinks, greens, and grays. I like cotton and heavy cotton upholstery. Silks, wool, corduroy all of these are fine too. I love texture over print but any prints are wonderful! Thanks! Aly

Quilting-weight cotton for me please, as I'm focused on those projects. I have some exotic hand-dyed fabrics and batiks to send, and would love to receive some of the same. Also enjoy polkadots and dotted swiss cotton fabrics.

Just to confirm, we are sending to two (2) swap partners, so it will be a total of 3+ yards sent. What would you consider a minimum size that is useful for crafting? I have lots of I-Spy novelty charms that are 4-1/2" square, and could include those if my assigned partner is interested.

I'm gathering treats from my stash now, but will wait to see what my assigned partner would like... so be sure to list any preferences in your profile!

I would like cotton please, in any colour/pattern. Nothing smaller than about a fat quarter, though, please. Thx!

lindahog 01/ 4/2007 #

Hi!! Like Tassy I would prefer cotton. No a days I'm in love with "retro-pattern", but everything will do!! About the size, I’m glad as long as it can be useful for something.

candyrage 01/ 5/2007 #

hi there, i would like just about anything but corduroy and polyester. if sending cotton, i would prefer somthing with a print. any size is fine with me. thanx!

Courtney 01/ 8/2007 #

I'd like cotton fabrics, please. Thanks!

flouncypenguin 01/ 8/2007 #

This is a long shot, but... I am collecting fabrics for a coffee/breakfast quilt. I found some toaster and coffee bean fabrics. I am searching for any type of food fabrics.

I love patterns and textures. I like bold, fun and whimsical prints. Not into much florals or country looking fabrics.

na 01/12/2007 #

funkychickenoriginals - i like floral! i like vintage floral. thanks!! :)

na 01/12/2007 #

courtney + dexylells -- what sort of fabrics do you like? :)

Courtney 01/12/2007 #

I trust whatever selections you make, but looking at my stash these are the things I've noticed: I like florals, polka dots, fun prints like geometric shapes, cherries. I'm not a big fan of paisley. I like blues, pinks, browns, greens, orange, black, white, and neutrals. I primarily stick to cottons (quilting fabrics, some home decorator fabrics, and apparel weight with no stretch).

TerryF 01/12/2007 #

Funkychickenoriginals and Cathy Palmer: I had already done up and sealed your packages before I read your comments above (I did read your profiles first though). It will be a mess to reopen them, so I will just send them along as is tomorrow. But I will send another package to each of you next week with a few more things specific to your preferences above. Please be patient - Canada Post is dysfunctional! Thx.

cmykrgb 01/13/2007 #

To Funkychickenoriginals and Thriftylady, I sent out your fabrics already, and even though I checked your profiles and your websites to see your style in advance I did not see your messages here until after the packets were mailed out. I hope that you enjoy the scraps from my stash, lots of bits and pieces not necessarily exact FQs.

cmykrgb 01/13/2007 #

Tassy - That's very thoughtful of you to offer, but please PLEASE don't worry about sending another package to me. I'm sure to be surprised and delighted with whatever assortment of fabric you selected for me the first time.

The postage can really add up for sending out swap packages, so no need for you to invest twice for this one exchange. I'll refine my profile to be more targeted for the next swap.

I look forward to getting my packages in the mail, thanks and happy swapping! - Cathy

TerryF 01/13/2007 #

Cathy: It's not a problem and I have the second packages all ready to mail on Monday anyway! We aim to please!

Got a great package today from H.C. in Ohio (don't know your screen name, sorry)! Lots of lovely fabrics, love the sunflowers, but the batik seahorses are simply awesome, thank you so much! Have a great day!

flouncypenguin 01/17/2007 #

I have a package going out to Terry in Ottawa, and another to Susie in Saint Paul!

I hope you both enjoy the loot!

funkykchicken 01/17/2007 #

Tassy please dont worry about sending another package not neccessary. You probably took me out of my comfort zone which is perfectly ok.I will enjoy whatever you sent.

Courtney 01/18/2007 #

I went to the post office today and received awesome packages from dexylells and thriftylady! Thank you both so much. The coolest part is you each included a handmade stuffed heart item and extras. You both rule!

TerryF 01/18/2007 #

Hi Msnqb: Received your WONDERFUL swap today - it was very sweet of you to send so much Xmas fabric (none of which I have - yay!), and I really like the butterfly fabric too. The sunset and sky fabric are perfect for my fabric postcards. I think this is your first swap in this group, isn't it? A very generous package --- sent air mail, no less! --- and I thank you heartily after having been disappointed more than once recently (by no sends). You deserve a 10! Thanks again and all the best in 2007! Tassy

TerryF 01/18/2007 #

Hi Funkychickenoriginals: Too late! It's gone! Enjoy! Tassy

na 01/20/2007 #

courtney -- im glad you liked everything!! can you please leave me a feedback rating? just because i am new, and id like to start building my rating up! thankyou!

I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED A SWAP PACKAGE YET, SAD :(

cmykrgb 01/20/2007 #

Got an excellent package of fabrics from MNSQB (along with a beautifal postcard of a Florida beach that looks very different from the snow outside right now). Very thoughtful selections of bright blues and greens, fun bugs, and plenty of polkadots. Thanks!

TerryF 01/25/2007 #

Flouncy Penguin sent me quite a large piece of a 70s type fabric with little brown, orange and yellow sailboats on it. Last week I picked up a picture book of apron styles throughout the 20th century, and I think that Flouncy Penguin's fabric will make great retro style aprons as gifts. Thx!

user2955 01/26/2007 #

I got my package so early from Courtney and it made me so happy. Now I am waiting and hoping not to be disappointed because I see that my other partner had to mail from England. Kate, are you out there? I did not get any fabric from you yet.

Courtney 01/26/2007 #

Kate, did you receive my package? I hope so.

TerryF 01/28/2007 #

Aly: If you have sewpatchwork (Kate)in England as your partner, don't worry. I have swapped a few times with her and she is good for it - she always sends lovely fabric and more than required. It just takes time to get over here from there and it can be expensive to send fabric air mail because it is so heavy. I am sure she will come through!

user5370 02/ 5/2007 #

hi thriftylady

just wondered whether you'd sent the package yet as nothing has arrived so far ....:( x Carole
