I'm thinking about joining....it's sounds fun yet subjective. crazy to me may not be crazy to you but I am on the look out.

Is there any chance of extending the send deadline? Three days isn't much time to go out and get a book after partners are assigned.

I'm thinking about joining this swap but I don't know if 3 day's will give me enough time to go to a thrift shop to find a crazy book... I basically live in the middle of nowhere and the closest thrift store to me is about a hour away.

What is media mail?

Great idea for a swap. Can't join being Canadian and all but still wanted to say that it's a fun idea.

Media mail is a cheaper way to send books, but it is not supposed to have correspondence in the envie at all! That is why when you receive a book from a book club, that the invoice is taped to the outside of the box. I have sent items media mail and taped the envie/note to the outside and they allowed it. The postage is half price sometimes, but sometimes it is about the same, also, so make sure you compare it to 1st class mail.

Unfortunately most of the USA is going to be snarled and home bound these three days due to the weather. (Even @AZmom875 is hunkering down cause of cold weather.) LOL

I hope that those that signed up realize this and can make it safely to the thrift stores and to the PO after.

Also another swap later would be great for us that are already housebound. local temp is 5 degress F and wind chill -12degrees F.

Yes, it is even colder than usual in AZ. I was at the thrift store today. Mainly cause I needed wrapping paper at the $1 store. I looked at books. I didnt buy one.

I found a neat book for this swap and the other swap for an interesting gift. I think is freezing in a lot of places.

I know ice storms have made much of the south a disaster this week. I wish the weather had held off because this swap is a great idea.

I do happen to have a 'weird' book I got somewhere that is a thrift store book. But not this week, so I do not think it would be fair to join.

Haha! I was at Goodwill yesterday (before the storm hit) and I bought a Gone With the Wind Cookbook and a book called Zombie Haiku ...can it get any crazier than those two?
