Description:

This swap is to promote making and using cloth menstrual pads!

I make cloth menstrual pads for sale on Etsy, and I love seeing women who take the initiative to make an item so necessary for our bodies. Cloth menstrual pads are reusable, not filled with plastic or chemicals and are so much more comfortable than disposables!

Swap requirements: You need to make 1 cloth menstrual pad using the following material.

Top (pick one): Cotton flannel Cotton terry Cotton cloth (like quilters cotton) Hand-knit/crocheted cotton

Internal liner (the absorbency ~ pick one or combine): Cotton flannel Cotton terry Cotton Batting (needs to be quilted to top) Hand-knit/crocheted cotton

Optional water resistant layer: PUL (polyurethane laminate) Polyester fleece

Bottom: Cotton Flannel Cotton Terry Polyester Fleece Wool fabric

Combine these fabrics to make an absorbent pad. You can use a serger, sewing machine or even hand sew it! Make winged or wingless. Snap closure, velcro closure or button closure! Use your imagination!

I totally support cloth pads - I'm not the only one who switched and found that I suddenly had shorter periods with fewer cramps.

But what exactly are we swapping?

This is a fantastic idea, I'm alergic to regular pads and organic cotton ones are expensive and hard to get. i haven't joined up yet bacause i want to try making some mself first but if all goes well I'll be joining you soon.

Lapina - thanks for opening my eyes to this idea x

Wow, I am a organic natural kinda person and mother. I've been working so hard on good foods, meds, bath and body, and detergents that I didn't even consider my tampons. I am really booked time wise at the moment so I am not joining but I would love to later if this goes well. Great idea!

Aww I can't sew at all. Would anyone be interested in making me a couple of these for a private swap? I can make soap :) Or if you're into the whole kawaii stuff I can send you that too.

Oooh me too! I'd love to try this, but I have no idea how to make them!
