Description:

Background Technique Swap - ATC

This swap is open to everyone with 4.50 or higher ratings!

You will have 3 partners and you will send 1 ATC to each.

You will create a background technique with a short version description of the technique on the backside of your card explaining in detail how you created that background.

Size: The ATC must measure 2.5 x3.5 and have a sturdy (non-flimsy) backing.

The easiest way to do this is not to do them individually but to create a master board of that technique. This way you can cut several ATC from this one master board.

NOTE: This is only an ATC background (technique) swap. Please do not put images and embellishments on your ATC background as you would in a regular ATC swap. (Unless it is part of your technique) Your description should be detailed enough to allow your partner to easily create this same technique.

This is a great way to learn how to create new and different backgrounds.

I was inspired my JENXO Blog, She and her swap partners created a little book of ATC techniques. I thought maybe we can create our own book by swapping ATC techniques with each other. Inspirational Credit

@YooperHill - I am doing the "tissue paper & acrylic paint" technique. This is so FUN!!

I am in the middle of a master board so I may join. It's my second try at one. Both the above techniques sound really cool. I'm watching for now :)

If anyone has extra backgrounds and what to do a private swap please let me know. I am looking to add as many new techniques to my collection.

what interesting techniques, I would love to try each one

I love the site you linked to. I wish I knew how to do a lot of those. I am too late to join this swap, but I hope to join the next one. I have (so far) just used packaged ATCs so I don't know what I would use for a master board--just regular cardstock?

I am certainly planning to make one of those little technique books, though. That looks like great fun! tm

@orneryswife - Yes, you can use regular cardstock to start your master board . I use cardstock but I also use book pages for my first layer... You can then paint over it with your gesso or acrylic paint before starting on your actual design. Hope this is helpful. - Beverly
