Description:

If you were in the previous swap:

Please write 2 of your family's favorite or traditional recipes in the book your partner sent to you, and send it along to this month's assigned partner. Don't forget to add your recipes to the "Table of Contents" in the front of the book. Don't worry about page numbers, we can figure that out in the end when the book comes home. You might want to send the owner of the book you receive a little message on her profile to let her know where her book is on it's journey.

If you are new to this swap series:

You will need a composition book. You can decorate it or cover it if you like. This type of book is great because the pages have plenty of room to write and they aren’t easily torn out, and if all books are the same the shipping costs will be similar for everyone.

On the inside front cover write your name, user name, and the swap name. Please make a note here if you have any food allergies or preferences. (For example, my family doesn't like onions)

In the inside back cover, write your name, address, and a note to return the journal home to you when it is full. "When this book is full, please return it to: Name Address"

Everyone will have 1 partner for this swap. Send your book to your partner by the deadline. Here are your instructions for the book. I think it will make it easier to use the book when it's full:

Page 1 - Make a title page, "Family Recipe Journal." Decorate it however you like. Page 2 & 3 - Start a Table of Contents and list the names of your 2 recipes on lines 1 and 2. Hopefully everyone that gets your book in future swaps will follow this example and add the titles of their recipes to these pages. Don't worry about writing page numbers, you can figure that out when your book gets home eventually! Page 4 onward - The recipes! Start your own book by writing 2 Family Recipes in your book. Send your book to your partner by the swap deadline By "family recipes" I mean something your family is famous for making or loves you to make. It can be an ethnic food that is a family tradition, a holiday favorite, or a favorite potluck meal that everyone asks you to bring! Main dish preferred, but side dishes are ok too.

By the end of the swap you will receive a book that your other partner has sent to you. Next month, we will have #6 swap and you will write two recipes in THAT book and send to your new partner. The book you sent in this swap will move on to the next partner and so on. When the book is full, that partner will mail it back to you! Any questions, please ask!

Everyone is welcome to join. Please don't flake; this is someone's book you've got after all. Please ship quickly if you are sending international so your partner will get the book in time for the next swap.

I will try to angel any flaked swaps...Communication is the key. If you don't receive a book, send them an email, and also to me.
