Description:

I'm still new to Swap-Bot and I've never hosted anything before, but I thought of a perfect idea so I might as well try it.

You are going to find an empty bottle, like a plastic soda pop bottle (make sure it's washed out first) and write a letter in it (letter should be at least 1 page long,) you can also choose to add a small gift (like glitter, a piece of candy, buttons, ribbons, etc) and mail it off to your partner. You can decorate the bottle, make the paper you're writing on look old, whatever you need to do. Have fun with this!

Edit: make sure your partner can be able to get your message out of the bottle!

Please have at least 10 Type 2 or Type 3 swaps done before joining with no unexplained 1's or 3's, I'll be checking profiles and will angel if necessary. Due to postage it's USA and Canada only.

Happy swapping!

I love "Message in a Bottle" swaps! I've hosted a few in the past and just wanted to pass a tip along in case your swappers wanted to use it. You can carefully cut an opening, like a flap, in the side of your bottle to insert other items and/or your letter and then tape it when you are done to re-seal the bottle. This might not be necessary in some cases, but in others, it makes getting the letter and other trinkets in/out of the bottle an easier task. :)

Have fun!

This is such a great swap idea! Maybe if this swap goes well, you could host a part two? I'd love to join once I'm more experienced. (:

i was wondering do we mail the bottle , without being in a bubble envie, or box? i was in 1 of these before and we had to mail the bottle without it being in a envelope or box.

You can mail these naked. If your post office says you can't they are lying. There is a website where the lady has sent all kind of bizarre things 'naked'. Google Giverslog 13 oz or less.

I just did a large pop bottle full of things, including a funny tee shirt and candy, a yoyo , funny things any 14 year old would find fun and then made a label to cover the flap Oh, I poked a hole with the knife and then cut it into a flap with sissors, easier than using a knife, and safer.I . I found it easy to do, I also added some crinkle paper to fill inthe fun part. I then added ribbon curled around the top of the bottle, this one is not going to go in the mail, but I have mailed my grandchildren the large pop bottles with easter things in them, Just put the mailing label completely over the flap.
