this sounds fun! just wondering, do you write out the poem and send the same poem to your 3 partners, or do you use the Actual words (and glue or whatever them down in order) to make and arty type thing, along with 3 original poems?

Vicki, could you post a link with an example? This sounds like a great swap but I'm unfamiliar with the process. Thanks, Lorraine

here is a link - http://www.public.asu.edu/~aarios/magicalrealism/studentwk01/dadapoems/

Basically what you will be doing is - take a sentence or paragraph from a magazine or newspaper (I look for ones that have some great words in them). Cut up the individual words and place them in a bag. Pull out a word one at a time and glue it down. Don't worry that it might not make sense, because for some reason it will in a strange way. That will make your poem. If you wish you can write down the original sentence/paragraph on the back of your postcard.

How do I choose the three people to send my postcards to?

When the swap closes, you will be sent the names of who you send to.

C-o-o-o-l! Sounds like great fun!

Hope everybody posts pics of their cards in the swap album, afterwards. I'm always disappointed when a swap is over, and nobody comes back to comment/share, and I cannot see what you all did.

I hope so too.......I would love to see everyone's pics!

Hi Cyn:

Thanks for the poem. I especially like the phrase "butterflies are that India emperor of small" --it reminds me of the style of Wallace Stevens!

Thanks again!

Cheryl, wonderful postcard!

Vicky - that is a beautiful card you posted! WOW! I've not received anything yet. I see that there are two swappers whose status is "not sent" - maybe a gentle reminder is in order? I've also not received a rating for the cards I sent. I'm always on tenterhooks until I know they arrived safely.

I do hope you'll all post pics!

Got my first postcard yesterday - thanks, Penny! Tried twice to upload a pic, but the upload did not work. I've uploaded pics into other swap galleries. Wonder what the problem is?

gentle reminders have gone out to the 2 people who have not sent out their postcards........
