Description:

For this swap you will create a piece of mail art for one partner fitting in a certain pattern theme. For this first swap the mail art should be mostly POLKA DOT. It can be a postcard, a decorated paper envelope, a hand-cut envelope made out of unusual materials like wall-paper or a calendar page, a recycled item used for a mail container, like a candy box....etc. If you do send a decorated envelope please put something inside and dont forget to include senders name and the name of the swap. These are just ideas to get you thinking. Just be creative and remember that you should be able to look at the mail and identify the theme POLKA DOT. Your swap should be a piece of art. IT SHOULD NOT BE STICKERS SLAPPED ON AN ENVELOPE. Please take some time and send something you would like to receive. . Feel free to message me if you need ideas or help. This swap is for beginners and pro's so don't be shy! By the end of the series the newbies will be pros and they will also have a nice bunch of mail art examples.

You'll have two weeks once the swap closes to send it out. Everyone is welcome, but please no flakers. If you are sending late please notify your partner ASAP! Let me know if you get flaked and I will happily angel.

I do wonder about this. Does it have to be like this type of polka dots?

Or can it be some of the flowers she has made at the link below, like if I want to draw a house and polka dot that, is that Ok? The link has some awesome flowers she made.

Oh and one more comment, thank you for making me search for something I wanted to show you. I stumbled on the above site and love it!

The 2nd link you posted says "doesn't exist" so I can't see what you are talking about, but pretty much any interpretation of polka-dot is fine. If you want to hand polka-dot a house or whatever. The idea is for the person getting it in the mail to know by looking at it that it is the polka-dot mail art.

When I went to the second link, I clicked on the top to go to "Jakheath-Designs" the flowers are great, thanks for the link. I've never done mail art and I'm not sure what it entails? Can anybody help a swapper that has a really hard time with written instructions, regardless how simple they seem to others? Thanks! Watching til I can figure it out.
