Free advertising for all vendors of fairy tale products & services! Join this swap to distribute your ad. postcards!

(Fictional products only!)

Swap description

Design a postcard to advertise an essential product available within the lands of fairy tale – a product that no unsuspecting fairy tale character should ever find themselves without! Perhaps you will be advertising on behalf of the Gingerbread Cottage Cutters Co. ('edible homes for everyone!), or perhaps you can provide the only fishing hook guaranteed to catch a talking, wish-fulfilling fish. Get creative and advertise those wares! The product you offer should be based on a recognisable motif from an existing, traditional fairy tale.

Swap requirements

  • Your postcard may be made using any art/craft media – hand-drawn, collage, embroidered, stamped, computer-manipulated – anything goes, so long as the postcard design (wording, layout etc) was designed by you. You may use copyright-free images within your design (as in pic above) but please don't 'borrow' artwork that is not free to use. The image side of the postcard may be entirely pictorial, if you prefer, but if so you should include some relevant/explanatory advertising text to the reverse (addressable) side of the card.

  • The reverse of your postcard should bear the usual marks of a postcard (centre line, address space, postage stamp box). It may also include additional advertising product information/text, and/or a note from a fairy tale character.

  • Your postcard may be sent to your partner in either of the following ways:

  • Stamped & sent naked – Make sure your postcard is sturdy enough to withstand the postal system! Be sure to include your SB user name as well as any fictional information in your note! Your note should make it clear which fairy tale/s your product relates to.

  • Enclosed within an envelope – this way you can leave the reverse of the postcard unwritten for your partner to use in their own correspondence; or alternatively, write your postcard as though from a fairy tale character, complete with fairy tale faux postage etc. Again, be sure to include your SB user name clearly, either written on the postcard, or as a separate note within the envelope, and make sure it is clear which fairy tale/s your product relates to.

  • 3 partners = 3 postcards sent & 3 postcards received

  • Please send on time!

The obvious bit

Late swaps & low ratings will all be checked before assigning partners. Contact me if you think there might be a problem.
