An Art Start to 2008

I'm hoping this will be a good way to replenish your creativity after Christmas without hitting your wallet very hard. You'll have one partner, US only. You'll be sending your partner either 1 larger or a few smaller works of art, in your preferred medium. Painting, drawing, photography, and collage are all fine. I've made a list of 50 themes/ideas - pick one or pick 10, or come up with your own, and try to use them in your artwork. Then package it nicely so it doesn't get mauled in the mail, and everyone will get something nice for the walls for the new year.

Here are the themes.

Specifics: -Because most of us don't have much money for swaps right now, I'm not putting much requirements for the material you use as a base. If you're painting, a piece of thin cardboard will be fine. If you use something cut from a cereal box or something be sure to coat both sides though. If you're drawing, nice cardstock or better quality sketch paper is fine. Photographs should be printed on photo paper. If you want to go all out and use canvas feel free.

-Optimally you need to send at least 8x12 inches worth of artwork. This could be 1 8"x12" painting or 20 inchies. ATCs are fine, just make sure you send enough. If you're doing photography, throwing in an extra 4"x6" print would be nice too, especially if you're sending photos you've already taken.

-You shouldn't need to spend more than $5 on this swap including shipping, unless you decide to run out and buy new art supplies or something. Please mail it securely enough though.

-If I've missed a type of art you do and you'd like to participate, just let me know and I'll add it to the description. If you have a very specific aversion to some artistic statement, PLEASE post it in the comment section. I don't want anyone being offended by what they receive.

RULES: - 4.5 or higher ratings only - Newbies only with prior references and full profiles - anyone without references or 2 swap ratings will be dropped unless they contact me - No no-sends in the last 6 months, or more than 1 no-send - US only (I'll host an international version later, or feel free to host your own) - Include a note in your package with the themes you used, if any, and a little about what materials you used. - I'll be checking profiles and dropping anyone suspicious 2 days before the partners are assigned, so if your resending something or waiting for a swap to finish for a new rating go ahead and sign up
