Your letter came at just the right time, everything you wrote lifted me up and made me believe in myself again just when I was doubting if my studies were all worth it, so I can't thank you enough for being this encouraging nudge I needed. I actually cried reading your letter, truly, thank you! Also, I cannot wait to check out all those recommendations! Everything about your swap was just so sweet and wholesome! Comment: Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE the stationery you sent! I love those vintage folded postalettes! The music sheet postal themed paper with the bird is so cool! The water colored morning glory paper is just beautiful and I love the slight texture of the paper! And the blue flower paper with the vellum floral envelope is amazing! The to/from sticker you added is appreciated, always handy. And you even included a thoughtful extra envelope of BEAUTIFUL floral and astronomical washi tape and stickers! I appreciate that so much! I've been making these vintage Winnie the Pooh postcards, and I only have two on those large floral washi stickers left, so your timing is perfect! I even love that sturdy piece of cardboard you sent everything with to keep it from bending. That's going into my cardboard collection, because we all appreciate a good piece of cardboard! 😆 So many uses... To conclude my long-winded discourse, I really appreciate how you obviously read my profile and sent such lovely picks for me, thank you!

Again thanks for the patience, hopefully the mail gets better in the coming months!

Comment: I want to come to your library! :) Thank you so much for all the library swag. I think I actually gasped in delight when the penguin button slid out of the envelope. The bookmark made me lol ("I do believe in Texans!"). It looks like your summer reading program is going to be awesome.

Comment: Hi Heather! I got your card today. It was postmarked Jan 14th. I hate it when mail takes so long to get to its destination. Yes, being in a snail mail group is so much fun! I was checking around on the internet for you to see if there is one in Austin. I think there was, but they're not too active. They have them in Fort Worth and Dallas if you're ever in the area. If you ever happen to be in Sacramento, you are absolutely welcome to come to one of our meetups! It's so nice to hear someone else has a love/ hate relationship with Outlander. I just became very disinterested once they were in America and I find it to just be TOO dramatic. You know? Like it gets old after a while. As far as book recommendations go, I've been revisiting old favorites and rereading the Anne of Green Gables books. Now that is a story that never gets old. I'm thinking of attempting to read Gone With the Wind in the summer. Haven't decided yet. Thanks for sending such a thoughtful card, it really made my day. :) <3 -Virginia
Response: That’s wild! What was it even doing for 3 weeks? I’m a glutton for punishment, so getting amped for the new outlander season. Anne of Green Gables is an absolute classic! Although I never read the full series when she was an adult and all. So glad the card finally arrived!

I’ll be sure too look into more Bradbury, Feather, and Wild. Night Watch is tied for favourite with Small Gods for me, though I am admittedly a sucker for Granny Weatherwax misadventures. May you survive the upcoming heat of a Texan spring! And thank you!!

Comment: How sweet mail, I like this so much, and seeing the donkey in the envelope, it feels so made for me, thank you, so very much! I love everything, and your long note, with the facts, you have such stylish handwriting, they don't teach that in schools here anymore, I love how it looks.
Response: I have such fun decorating envelopes and am so glad you like it! I worry sometimes that my handwriting might be a bit hard to read--we were only allowed to write in cursive in school, so when I became a teacher I had to re-learn how to print so my students could read my writing, to mixed results. I love how distinctive older handwriting styles are too!

Comment: Thank you for your winter tips! I haven't been great at getting outdoors at all lately. It's mostly been a grey winter so far. Where did you get the bird house stamp? I like it alot!
Response: I was so happy to be able to dig up a bird stamp for you! The birdhouse stamp is a Cinderella, since it's not valid postage, but a novelty item. From the 1930s to about 2000, the National Wildlife Federation produced these art stamps to entice people to donate money, and they came in charity mailers like address stickers do now. I still have a few sets from my childhood in the 90s, and a full sheet of them goes for less than $10 on ebay. You can read more about NWF stamps here (https://blog.nwf.org/2016/08/stamps-of-the-decades/) or learn about Cinderellas in this super cool podcast episode https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/great-bitter-lake-association/
